Our workshops and expeditions focus on learning and sharing experience within a group of like-minded individuals and families. Furthermore they provide access to topics and projects on the ground. Putting what has been learned into practice is the main objective of all our workshops. Site visits to selected projects, case studies reflecting the participants’ experience, peer-to-peer learning and discussions with experts provide a concrete insight into the work of philanthropy.
For many donors the charitable work is only one of the many tasks filling up their schedule and they can rarely dedicate all of their time to philanthropy. In planning and designing our workshops we try to accommodate this: the length of our workshops varies from an evening event or a two-day event to a learning journey that may last a whole week. Locations are chosen according to demand: we can organise workshops in a donor's home town or home country, but also offer field trips that visit projects in Africa, Asia, South America or within the Arctic Circle.
Special care is taken to select workshop locations that foster a spirit of openness, trust and learning between participants, and help donors to connect the "cerebral" with the "spiritual/emotional" part of learning. Workshops are held in German and English.
