Workshops on Specific Topics

These Workshops focus on potential funding areas e.g. 'Child Poverty' and present donors with a long-term perspective of a problem. The workshops look at responses that are being developed by players already active in the field, and help philanthropists to identify points of entry for their own involvement. Expeditions comprise a series of site-visits that bring the subject into focus and examine what different strategies for investing in projects look like in practice. The goal of the field trips is to gain practical experience in analysing a problem and in developing strategies for problem-solving as well as observing the impact of donations in the field.

An example are our Learning Journeys to Greenland we have been conducting on the topic of climate change together with different partners since 2008. To have a look at the flyer including a programme overview of one of our latest expeditions to Greenland please click here

Moreover we offer occasional workshops and discussions on selected skills and methods needed to give effectively. Titled “In search of Foundation Effectiveness: Harnessing the Power of Evaluative Thinking“, we ran, for example, an evening event on evaluation of charitable work in partnership with the Association of German Foundations (Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen) in Berlin.
