The Bundesverband - umbrella organisation of the non-profit German foundation business - protects the interests of the foundations in Germany. Its task is to make sure that the foundations can effectively carry out their tasks and achieve their goals set for the future.
With its practical expertise the Association contributes to political decision-making processes and to public reporting. The events organized by the Association promote a dialogue and in particular exchange of experiences and networking among the different foundations. Representing the competence center of the German foundations, the Association gathers information – among others in the database of German foundations and the library of German foundations – and edits them accordingly to produce publications and to forward them for scientific studies.
By means of its work, the Association of German Foundations supports further development of the foundation business in general and draws the public’s attention to foundations and their importance in a well-functioning modern society.
