Active Philanthropy acts as a safe space and platform for donors to exchange experiences, learn from each other and from experts in the field and work together to create change in the field they care about.

 

We believe that donors can learn best from practical experience and by exchange with peers and leading experts in a safe environment. All of our services are therefore geared to providing relevant practical guidance that can be put to immediate use, and to collect and disseminate knowledge generated by peers from all over the world. Active Philanthropy hopes that its services will encourage families and individuals to become involved in philanthropy by giving them the confidence that they can have a real, visible impact. 

 

The Forum provides the following services:

  

• Resource Toolbox
  
  The Resource Toolbox contains our publications:
  
  Publications on the "What": short reports provide overviews of potential funding areas, including information on some of the main players already active in the field, existing initiatives and potential points of entry for "new" donors.
  
  Publications on the "How": brief guides provide best practices on management issues such as: How to start a foundation?, How to identify a good project, or: How to integrate the next generation in the foundation?
  
  The toolbox materials also include publications on some of the personal issues underlying philanthropic engagement, such as: How can I combine my role as a donor with the other roles I have?, or: How can I pass on my legacy to my children?
  
  
• Workshops and Fieldtrips
  
  The Forum for Active Philanthropy provides Workshops and Fieldtrips that bring together a small number of people interested in the same funding area or management issue, and facilitate an exchange with peers and experts in the field.  
  
  
• Coaching and Consulting
  
  The Forum for Active Philanthropy offers one-to-one Coaching and Consulting for donors new to the field as well as for donors who wish to review their current giving strategy.
  
  
• Back Office
  
  The Active Philanthropy Stiftungszentrum provides the entire back office for foundations and supports them in communicating what they do.

Active Philanthropy is not raising funds for any particular cause nor are we in a position to help organisations or individuals to fundraise.

Active Philanthropy is not involved in wealth management in any way. The financial management of assets rests with the wealth manager/ bank/ family office the client has chosen.
